At Two Rivers our motto is “we are crew, not passengers.” What does that mean? What does being a crew for the adults in a school look like, sound like, and feel like? In this course on teacher collaboration, we will seek to unpack the skills needed to be incredible teaching partners and thus become the highly effective teachers our community deserves. This course is especially helpful for teaching teams or staff members working closely together. In our sessions we will explore how to build and maintain relationships with fellow educators and practice those skills; learn how to have healthy conflict and brave conversations; and communicate the value in collaborating with others. We will utilize an emotional intelligence tool from the Noble Story Group called the Five Square in order to become better communicators. We’ll also examine aspects of our identity including our relationship with race and racism and how that affects our relationship with others. Finally, our participants will practice addressing professional dilemmas they are facing in relation to collaboration at work and become crew, not passengers.

This course will meet from 7:00 PM to 8:30PM on Tuesdays on the following dates:

October 5, October 19, November 16, and November 30

Cost: $200 ($175 per person if registering two or more people from the same institution)
